Springfield House is a detached property situated on a quiet residential street in Birchington, Thanet, Kent. The house has ample parking at the front and a secure garden at the rear of the property.
From Springfield House it is a 5 minute walk to the town centre and train station and a 2 minute walk to the seafront. Birchington has good links to Margate, Ramsgate and Broadstairs.
There are a variety of activities on offer to those who reside at Springfield House. Some people attend college either at Thanet or Westgate College, others have gained employment through an employment agency, with one young man securing a job at the local Asda. Within the local vicinity of the house residents of the home can access leisure centre’s for swimming, zumba classes and bowling, there are also parks, restaurants and pubs nearby. Springfield House has its own activity coordinator who attends the home on a weekly basis and arranges outings and other in house activities. Within Thanet a safe biking area has been set up where bikes can be hired, an aromatherapist also visits the house on a weekly basis.
Springfield House has an open plan spacious lounge and dining room a smaller additional lounge and a spacious fully fitted kitchen. There are 5 bedrooms on the ground floor and 5 on the first floor; all bedrooms have their own ensuite.
The house has a secure rear garden with a log cabin which is used as a sensory room or an activity room; there is also a trampoline and patio area.

Springfield House supports 2 females and 7 males; the youngest service user is 19 and the oldest 25years old.
Springfield House supports individuals who have a learning disability, including people with communication difficulties, complex epilepsy and autism.
Sam Long is the Manager of Springfield House, she joined ACH in 2006 and this is her second management post within the organisation. Sam has worked in the care sector since she was sixteen years old and has a brother who has a severe learning disability. She has the NVQ 4 in Care and the Registered Managers Award and has attended a number of train the trainer courses.
Sam continues to update herself and attends regular relevant training courses.
